Who doesn’t love a high-grade field sweater? Especially one that is super comfortable, fit for purpose, and long-wearing with proper fit. There have been many hunting sweaters made through the years for sportsmen, but very few would match the superior assets delivered in our North Wind Field Sweater. This high-grade sweater was inspired by many arctic cold fronts, which brought sub-freezing temperatures, snow, freezing rain, and a biting north wind. This mid-weight garment is excellent as a base layer on fridged days or as a stand-alone with a vest when it’s cool. Designed for the field with the wing-shooting sportsman in mind, however handsome enough to wear after the hunt around the lodge or town.
Constructed of 100% boiled-wool, which keeps you warm without bulk and weight allowing you the freedom to move. The benefits of boiled-wool as a wind-blocking, insulating fabric are unquestionable, it is naturally breathable and soft, it has a high warmth-to-weight ratio, regulates body temperatures in cold and warm climates, keeps you warm even when it’s wet, dries fast, and is odor resistant. Boiled-wool is produced by a method of using hot water and agitation, to shrink and interlock the fibers into a tight and dense weave. This process originated in the Swiss Alps and delivers higher quality, greater comfort, and a more durable material than standard wool.
The sweater is a quarter-zip, mock-collar style, which has several unique features such as long sleeves with thumb holes in the ribbed cuffs allowing the option to wear in place or secured over the hand. Pockets include a zippered security pocket on the left chest, which is perfect for keeping your duck call, and a zippered utility pocket on the upper right arm, for holding a stash of cash, a small wallet, or a hunting license. We used our 100% cotton Montana Cloth™ to reinforce the shoulders and underside forearms adding an extra layer of durability to these high wear areas.
The sweater is offered in solid Hunter Brown and Hunter Brown with Blaze Orange panels for upland bird hunting.
